We did this tour for my friends birthday and weren’t disappointed.
Learning about the local cuisine and trying dishes we possibly wouldn’t have or were the best places to try them was great. The tour takes you off the beaten track also around some of the old town areas we might have missed.
Our guide Annette made the trip a five star experience for us. She was so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon and its relationship with food which made this much more than a tasting trip. Thank you Annette ❤️👏

6 out of 5 stars. Catarina was amazing and showed us lovely spots and great hospitality. She was very knowledgeable and didn’t just point out landmarks she had great stories and contexts and local view point. Super friendly and accommodated and entertained my wife and I and our two teenage boys. We loved that she had clear and warm connections to the proprietors of the restaurants we visited which also helped us feel more welcome. She also gave us good tips on what to do on the rest our trip. Highly recommend.

Absolutely top notch tour. Kathrina was awesome, our group was fun, we learned, we ate, we drank, and we had such a lovely time as a group of strangers becoming friends. The special sardine sit-down meal was fantastic. Not only super fresh grilled sardines, but chorizo and olives and cheese and chips and pork and bread and I can’t remember what else with lots of wine. Highly recommend. Have had such good tours with Eating Europe. 😊

Eddie our tour guide is amazing and just the right amount of funny. The walk isn’t too much and the stops are frequent. We visted many places we wouldn’t have tried alone. This tour definitely gives an alternate look at the city of Lisbon. This tour does visit the more populous areas of the city yet we never felt unsafe. When in the area please take this tour and ask for Eddie to be your guide.

Camilla was fabulous! Get ready to really taste the foods of Portugal and hear and see all about this gorgeous city! I chose this food tour because it seemed higher end than others being offered and I was correct. Wonderful experience from start to finish! It has a five star from everyone for a reason! And our Tuk Tuk driver was so pleasant and accommodating! Really a great tour!

Our group of 3 spent a lovely day with Eddy exploring the tastes, the art & the neighborhoods of Lisbon. Eddy is extremely knowledgeable of Lisbon & Portugese history. He chose small authentic restaurants for us to sample traditional Portugese food, beer & wines. Our tuk tuk driver, Miguel, was a great addition to the day. He is also very knowledgeable of the neighborhoods & their history. Eddy & Miguel are a dynamic duo & provided a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Lisbon food & culture

Camila’s tour of Lisbon was incredible. She is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic, professional and kind— and the food and views were all so amazing. I have celiac disease and (sadly!) can’t eat gluten and she made special accommodations for me at every stop. She completely made my trip to Lisbon worthwhile and I have a much deeper understanding of Portuguese culture. I would recommend this tour with Camila 10/10 times. Thank you!!!!

One word to describe our experience- "priceless"! We were on a 45th birthday trip with 32 multigenerational women from ages 19 to 83 traveling from the United States and Canada from diverse backgrounds and religious faiths. I say this because we had a mix of dietary restrictions including vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, non-vegetarian, kosher, and halal. All the dietary needs were met.
For some guests, this was their first time in Europe versus many who are seasoned travelers. This Eating Europe experience was the start of our 4-day birthday celebration and it provided the guests a glimpse of Lisbon- from the beautiful scenic views to the variety of dining options and to the hospitality. The team at Eating Europe ensured to address all the questions during the reservations process, the follow-ups, and finally delivered a wonderful memorable experience! We truly appreciated the hospitality of the guides, the staff at the various restaurants, and the taste of Lisbon. Definitely a must do in Lisboa for all groups- young to old, women's trip, couples', families, etc.

The Tastiest Food Tours in Lisbon

Apart from extravagant tiles and baroque architecture, Lisbon is known for its culinary delights.

Like many countries in Europe where food is ingrained into the culture, Portuguese cuisine and wine vary from region to region but there is one thing that never changes, the quality! It is hard to underestimate just how passionately locals in Lisbon feel about their food and wine.

One of the best ways to taste the local food scene is to join our food tours in Lisbon. Many visitors to Portugal are not familiar with the country’s rich gastronomy or where to get the best foods to eat in Lisbon. Unfortunately, Portuguese cuisine tends to be overshadowed by its Spanish, Italian and French neighbors.

For this reason, joining us on one of our food tours in Lisbon will introduce you to local and traditional Portuguese specialties. Whether you choose the Best of Lisbon Tuk Tuk Food Tour or Undiscovered Lisbon Tour, you’ll explore Lisbon’s colourful neighborhoods and enjoy the local Portuguese flavors.

Portugal’s fortunate geographic location allows the country to excel in different specialties from the amazingly fresh seafood caught just off the coast to the porco preto (Black Iberian pig), who roam freely in the oak forest feeding on acorns that give them their mouth-watering nutty flavour. And of course, no visit to Lisbon is complete with tasting dishes with one of the most iconic ingredients of Portuguese cuisine – the dried and salted cod, bacalhau.

Joining our Lisbon food tours will take you up and down the hilly back-streets, to praças (plazas), local eateries and neighborhood pastelarias that serve classic sweets (oh, those pastel de natas!) meticulously handmade following the original recipes handed down throughout generations.

Lisbon does not disappoint when it comes to its local wines either. Because Portugal’s wine culture developed in relative isolation, there are many grape varieties that do not grow anywhere else in the world. As always, our local Lisbon food tour guides will share their favorite spots with stories that bring the history and culture of Lisbon passionately to life.

We are confident that by joining a food tour in Lisbon, you will explore innovative trends of cuisine and will make you feel immersed into the food culture of Portuguese. You will leave our food tours ready to explore Lisbon’s culinary delights as a local!
