What are chicken poppers?
Chicken poppers are basically chicken nuggets with theaddition of veggies and minus the breading. These happen to by Paleo, AIP andWhole30 chicken nuggets.
How to Make Sweet Potato Chicken Poppers
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Rub the olive oil over a large baking sheet and then set aside.
Add the sweet potatoes to a high-speed blender or foodprocessor then blend until about the size of rice.
Add the sweet potatoes along with the chicken, tapiocaflour, garlic powder, onion powder and salt to a large mixing bowl.
Using your hands or a spoon, mix until completely combined. To form the poppers, roll them into a ball then flatten until they are about 1 inch thick and in the shape of an egg. They should look like chicken nuggets. Place the finished poppers on the baking sheet.
Place the entire baking sheet into the oven for 40 minutes, flipping halfway. Once finished, remove the oven and serve immediately.
Tips for Making the Best Sweet Potato Chicken Poppers
- You’ll need a large baking sheet for this recipe.
- You can use sweet potato for this recipe but I prefer yam. It’s less sweet and has less moisture.
- I used this tapioca starch for the recipe.
- I used the Simply Organics garlic and onion powder. It’s high quality and the only brand I use.

I haven't tried to freeze them. But I think they would work well in the freezer.

No. You'll need raw chicken and uncooked sweet potato.

Is this 2 cups after ricing or before ricing the sweet potato?Had these at family’s house and they are delicious! But as I recreate them I had the above question. Thanks!
