This Is Why Wendy’s Chili Is So Delicious

Wendy's Chili Ingredients - Nutrition | NoahStrength.com (3)

What is it that makes the coveted Wendy’s saucy bowl of chili so delicious? There must be something special about it if people are craving chili from a burger joint. Watch ahead for a deep dive into this tasty dish to find out why it’s such a big deal.\n\nOne of Wendy’s slogans is \”Quality is our recipe.\” Using fresh meat is the number one point that the company makes to prove it offers quality products, and that of course includes the meat in their chili. When it comes to meat, fresh is often better than frozen, particularly with ground beef. Lean ground meat is approximately 60 percent water, so when you freeze a chunk of hamburger beef, the water freezes as well, creating ice crystals that chop up the meat in a less-than-ideal way. It tears the muscle fibers, and when the meat thaws, it leaves unsightly reddish water on the cutting board.\n\nFurthermore, if meat is exposed to air in the freezer, it can lead to unwanted consequences like freezer burn or dehydration. It’s not unsafe to eat, but it won’t look or taste like it does when it’s fresh. The fact that the meat used in Wendy’s chili never touches the inside of the freezer means it’s always going to taste that much better. \n\nWatch the video to see why Wendy’s chili is so delicious!\n\n#Wendys #Chili #WendysChili\n\nAlways fresh meat | 0:13\nStarting as something else | 0:57\nMore than one kind of bean | 1:45\nA low-calorie meal | 2:35\nThat essential sense of smell | 3:14

You can make chili just like Wendy’s does. Find the recipe at http://www.copykat.com/2010/04/29/wendys-chili-2/\n\nHi, this is Stephanie Manley with Copy Kat Recipes. You loved it in the\nrestaurants now let’s make it at home. Today we’re going to make Wendy’s\nChili. Wendy’s Chili is one of my all-time favorite recipes. This recipe\nmakes a ton, so you can invite all your friends and family over and, no one\nis going to go away hungry. So let’s get cooking.\n\nWe’re going to start browning our ground meat for our chili. I like to\nbrown my ground meat on a medium to medium-high heat. We’re going to put\ntwo pounds of ground meat in here. I love using ground chuck. I think it\nhas a great flavor and it’s inexpensive. That’s always good. That’s one\npound and then the other.\n\nI am going to go ahead and put my onions in right now and we’ll let that\nstart browning. So our ground meat is cooking right now. We’re just going\nto let that finish off. When I cook this hamburger meat, I didn’t add any\noil or anything to this. I just put in the ground meat, and the onions, and\nlet it simmer away.\n\nSo in a couple more minutes, we’ll add the rest of the ingredients to this.\nSo I’m going to go ahead and add my chili powder. Again, I’m adding 1/4\ncup. Chili powder is not too spicy, so I’ve never found that to be too\nmuch, so to give that a quick little stir.\n\nI’m going to add in my green bell pepper, my celery. I’m going to go ahead\nand add some of my spices. I am going to add in my salt, my garlic powder,\nmy cumin. I added a little extra; I prefer a little bit more cumin. I am\ngoing to give this a quick stir again.\n\nI am going to add in my black pepper, my oregano. Here’s my oregano.\nCayenne pepper, this is my cayenne pepper. If you like your chili more\nspicy, go ahead and add some extra. Add a little bit of sugar, sugar helps\ncounteract the acidity with the tomatoes.\n\nThe next thing I’m going to add in is my tomato juice. This is what’s help\ngive this chili its extra flavor. I am going to add four cups in. Next\ncomes my tomato puree, you can buy tomato puree. It’s not sauce, it’s not\npaste, but it’s actually puree. Grocery stores do sell this.\n\nI’m going to give this a quick stir again, and then I’m going to add in\npinto beans and kidney beans. Here are my kidney beans. Just going to\nfinish stirring this and I’m going to come back in about 1 ½ hours for some\ngreat tasting Wendy’s chili.\n\nWe’ve just made Wendy’s Chili, but know what? You don’t have to stop there.\nI’ve got over 1500 more recipes at copykat.com. So stop on by and you can\ncook more of your restaurant favorites. You loved it in the restaurant, now\nyou can make it at home. Our chili is done now. It looks just fabulous. I\nlove chili.\n\nHi, I’m Stephanie Manley. Have you ever wondered how your favorite\nrestaurants make that special dish? Well, I’ve put together over 1500\nrecipes that taste just like they do in the restaurant.
